The 2016 Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Innovative Startups Competition will start in August and the deadline for application is July 20, said Witman Hung, principal liaison officer of the Hong Kong office of Qianhai Authority, at a media luncheon July 6.
He also announced that a Shenzhen-Hong Kong big data forum themed “The Development of Big Data and Smart City” will be held in Qianhai on July 30.
He said both the competition and the forum are in preparation. The winner of the competition will receive a handsome bonus, gain one-year rent-free working space at Qianhai Shenzhen Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub (E-Hub), and have the opportunity to work with mainland investors and enterprises. The total prize will be HK$1.2 million.
Hung said Qianhai has more to work with Hong Kong such as on technology innovation, big data, entrepreneurship and creative culture. Hong Kong can make full use of Shenzhen’s advanced technology and relatively low cost.
He also added that in 2016 Qianhai aims for eight innovations and bigger progress.
