Qianhai Free Trade Mansion, a super high-rise office building, was capped Wednesday with a floorage of 79,900 square meters and a total investment of 850 million yuan (US$127 million).

Designed by German architecture firm Architekten von Gerkan, Marg und Partner (GMP), the project is located at the No. 3 block of the Unit 19 area in the Mawan Zone of Qianhai.

It has adopted environmentally friendly building techniques, and meets both the U.S. LEED Gold level and the Chinese three-star green building standard.

To create greenery spaces, “hanging gardens” were built every 12 floors.

QR code labels that inform cell phone users of the materials used, the manufacturers’ names and any test results are accessible at the construction site.

Along with the developer of the project, Qianhai Development and Investment Holdings Co., seven construction companies including China’s logistics giant, S.F Express, are engaged in transforming the No. 3 block into a bustling area concentrating on international trade, finance, and logistics.
