Shenzhen Qianhai Cooperation Zone People’s Court, which was established in 2013 and focuses on cross-border business disputes, announced its innovative achievements including its management measures and 10 typical cases yesterday in Qianhai.

According to Ye Qing, vice president of the Qianhai Court, a total of 3,087 civil and commercial cases have been settled. There were 1,994 cases related to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, accounting for 63 percent of the total.

“We strive to provide efficient, fair services, exploring ways to deal with novel cases, such as Internet transactions, financial derivatives and other new financial disputes that are caused by new technology and innovation,” Ye said.

“Over the past years we have included many talented and professional staff, formed a think tank and founded our Hong Kong jurors’ team to help make professional and fair judgments.”

At yesterday’s press conference, 10 typical Qianhai cases were also released. The cases were either cross-border financial disputes or new forms of financial disputes.

According to the latest statistics from National Statistics Bureau, over 75 percent of enterprises express concerns over Qianhai’s legal environment when they are thinking of settling in the area.

To meet demand and offer legal solutions to cross-border enterprises, the court promises to help make Qianhai a business-friendly area in South China.
