The year 2017 was named The Year of Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cooperation at a meeting in Qianhai. The authorities aim to continue release the trade facilitation index, cross-border finance index, legal environment index, and policy innovation and the construction and organization of Hong Kong Exchanges Joint Exchange Center, Shenzhen-Hong Kong Fund Town and other international fairs or events.
Chen Kwan-yiu, president of the Qianhai Institute for Innovative Research, said that Hong Kong can work with Qianhai to build modern service industry and focuses more on exploring mainland markets and participate more positively in the Belt and Road Initiative.
He said that Shenzhen outperforms Hong Kong on technology innovation. The two should cooperate on technology and finance.
