Qianhai, the designated financial hub in the southwest of the city, made efforts to lure talents both at home and abroad by offering more than 100 positions at the 15th Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP) at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center.

Companies such as Qianhai Financial Holdings Co. Ltd., Qianhai Development and Investment Holdings Co. Ltd., Qianhai Equity Exchange and First Seafront Fund Management Co. Ltd. were all offering senior positions that require professional skills in Internet engineering, finance and telecommunications.

The Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub (E Hub) also set up a booth at the fair to introduce the advantages they offer for incubating startup teams.

At Saturday’s opening ceremony of the CIEP, Wang Jinxia, deputy director general of Qianhai Authority, said that the special zone has carried out several measures to attract talents, especially financial and high-tech professionals, from all over the world.

According to Wang, Qianhai now has formed a talent pool of over 300,000 people, 10,000 of whom are expats.

Qianhai provides individual income tax subsidies, low-rent housing, startup investments and overseas certificate recognition to people who work there and will continue to give more financial support to talents and help expats acquire a Chinese green card more easily, according to the authority.

Yang Shan, deputy director of Talents Affairs Division of Qianhai Authority, said that they plan to organize an on-campus recruitment event at the end of the year to foster talents “who will then bear the Qianhai gene.”
