The 2nd Guangdong FTZ Haitao (purchasing imported goods) Festival kicked off during the May Day holiday in Qianhai and Shekou Free Trade Area, attracting local residents.
The festival was held in Qianhai, Nansha, Guangzhou and Hengqin, Zhuhai respectively and the launch ceremony was held in Qianhai.
Shopping fairs such as imported goods fair, favorable goods promotion fair, new imported goods ordering fair, e-shopping fair and more were held. Famed e-commerce and o2o merchants such as Xiaohongshu, SFbest, Chow Tai Fook and Kaixingou joined the shopping spree.
At the Chow Tai Fook Global Commodity Shopping Center in Qianhai（also called CTF HOKO, customers can find diapers, red wines and other promotion package. Some other merchants also sent out coupons to the customers who downloaded related APPs. According to a customer who surnamed Huang, the prices of some products were cheaper than those in Hong Kong. For instance, she said, one bag of a diaper of a certain brand that was produced in Japan usually costs HK$180 (156 yuan). In Qianhai two bags of the diaper cost only 230 yuan -- it equals to about 70 percent discount.
