According to the data research in the past two years, it shows that the increase of cases accepted by the courts is relevant to the economy performance in Qianhai area.
By the end of May, the courts has heard 7,019 cases, including 3,022 cases that involve Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and foreign parties. Among them, 2,195 cases involve Hong Kong entities.
In 2016, the court heard 1,582 cases that involve Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and foreign parties, up 158.91% from 2015.
The Qianhai & Shekou Pilot Free Trade Area was established in 2015. By the end of 2016, a total of 4,223 Hong Kong companies were registered in Qianhai with the added value of 39.261 billion yuan.
While new companies continue to settle in Qianhai, disputes have increased.
By the end of May, the court has heard 1,067 cases that were related to foreign private lending and 589 cases that were foreign related financial disputes.
