Western Shenzhen has welcomed its very first urban beach with the recent opening of the artificial shoreline at the Guiwan section of Qianhai Stone Park. This marks the city’s inaugural man-made urban beach, offering a new kind of coastal experience for residents and visitors.
The beach provides a stunning 270-degree open view, where the striking city skyline and a pure white Ferris wheel appear to float on the sea in the distance. On the opposite side runs the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway, creating a unique urban-seaside atmosphere distinct from the natural beaches found in Shenzhen’s eastern areas.
At the heart of the beach, stepped seating and a wavy seawall viewing platform offer ideal spots for relaxation. The area is divided into two parts: a pebble shore near the water and a sandy beach just across the path. This makes it an especially perfect location for sunset viewing.
In the future, the site is set to host art events and see the addition of more supporting facilities, promising not only beautiful views but also engaging recreational experiences.
Visitors are advised that:
● The section closest to the water is pebble-covered, not sandy.
● Some areas remain under construction and are not in their final form.
