A launch ceremony for the 14th China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition Qianhai, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Competition was held at the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub (E-hub) on Aug. 8, attracting more than 200 attendees.

The audience included representatives from science and technology parks, universities, research institutes, tech companies, investment institutions, and youth entrepreneurship associations from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, as well as young entrepreneurs planning to enter the competition.

According to the organizing committee, the competition will run for four months and comprises a regular competition and an integration-and-matchmaking segment for enterprises of different sizes. The regular competition will proceed through three stages: preliminary, semi-final, and final. Registration is open through Sept. 15.

The competition features multiple cutting-edge industry tracks, including artificial intelligence and embodied intelligence, life health, new materials, new energy, energy conservation and environmental protection, cultural creativity and sports technology, fintech, and others. Each track offers a one-million-yuan prize (US$139,246), with a combined prize pool of five million yuan and 55 winning entries across the tracks. Winning projects may also be eligible for a five-million-yuan direct investment from a fund, with priority placement in the E-hub and in office parks facilitating Hong Kong–Macao–Taiwan cooperation.

The China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition (CIEC) is one of the country’s highest-level, largest and most influential national innovation and entrepreneurship contests. As the only national-level competition in the CIEC system that specifically connects Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, the Qianhai edition aims to deepen entrepreneurial exchanges among young people from the three regions and to support the commercialization and scaling of their projects.

The event is jointly sponsored by the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Qianhai Authority. For more information, visit https://cxcyds-gat.ehub.hk.cn, email cxcyds-hmt@china-citi.cn, or call the hotline at 0757-89957368.
