Multinational tech company Google opened its Export Acceleration Center (EAC)  on July 29 in Shenzhen’s Qianhai area. The center aims to help local companies accelerate their cross-border e-commerce operations through targeted market training and the aggregation of ecosystem resources.

Located on the 18th floor of Tower B in the Qianhai International Talent Hub, the center serves as a one-stop incubation platform for standalone e-commerce websites, supporting sellers with overseas expansion. It offers comprehensive support tailored to the transformation challenges and growth needs of sellers going global, enabling businesses to quickly overcome common obstacles, launch standalone websites with ease, and achieve an omnichannel presence alongside overseas business growth.

On Oct. 15, 2024, Google established its first EAC in Xiamen, Fujian Province. Eli Liu, director of China Agency and Partnerships at Google Customer Solutions, explained that Shenzhen was chosen as the site for the second EAC due to its strong industrial advantages and the surrounding regional ecosystem.

“Shenzhen’s consumer electronics, fashion, and machinery sectors hold tremendous potential for overseas expansion. Over the past decade, we have helped thousands of Shenzhen-based companies successfully expand globally. Looking ahead, we believe we can assist Shenzhen’s enterprises in growing internationally and building overseas brands with even greater speed and scale here,” Liu said.

In recent years, Shenzhen’s cross-border e-commerce sector has experienced rapid growth, alongside continuous improvements in the industry ecosystem. In 2024, Shenzhen’s cross-border e-commerce import and export volume reached 372 billion yuan (US$51.8 billion), ranking first nationwide for the third consecutive year. The city is now home to 14 publicly listed cross-border e-commerce companies and more than 100 branded, standalone websites.
