During a symposium, the Cambodian officials engaged in in-depth discussions with senior representatives from the Qianhai Authority, Shenzhen Customs, and the ASEAN-China GBA Economic Cooperation (Qianhai) Forum. Key topics included the organizational structure and functions of Qianhai's management, its supervision mechanisms, and the corporate service processes that make the Qianhai Free Trade Zone a model of efficiency. The delegation also explored the investment and financing models used by Qianhai's State-owned enterprises and the operation of major development projects.
Tep Phiyorin, Under Secretary of State at Cambodia’s Ministry of Economy and Finance, highlighted Qianhai as an exemplary model of governance and innovation. He emphasized that the visit was an invaluable opportunity for Cambodia to learn from Qianhai’s successful economic development strategies and its management of state-owned enterprises. These insights, he noted, would play a crucial role in shaping Cambodia's own special economic zones and advancing its regional economic growth.
The delegation also toured the Qianhai Comprehensive Bonded Zone, where they observed the zone's "one-stop" service model, its advanced cargo flow supervision mechanisms, and cutting-edge customs practices. The visit is an important milestone in the growing economic and trade relations between the free trade zones of the two countries. Through productive exchanges and site visits, both sides have deepened mutual trust and reached consensus, providing new momentum to enhance economic and trade cooperation between China and Cambodia.
