
The Saudi Arabian delegation engages in a symposium with Qianhai officials and business leaders.
A delegation of approximately 20 government officials and business representatives from Saudi Arabia visited the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone in Shenzhen on Feb. 11 to seek cooperation opportunities in fields such as finance, logistics, and investment.
Led by Saleh Aljaber, the general manager of the Special Economic Zones at the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia, the delegation learned about the development of the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Financial City and participated in a symposium with officials and representatives from the Qianhai Authority, the governments of Nanshan and Bao’an districts, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shenzhen Municipal Committee (CCPIT Shenzhen), and local firms.Wang Shourui, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, welcomed the delegation at the symposium. He introduced Qianhai’s economic and social development and proposed collaboration between Qianhai and Saudi Arabia on free trade zone construction and expressed hopes to promote mutual business interests in global markets.Saleh Aljaber expressed admiration for Qianhai’s business environment and advantages, particularly the application of foreign laws. He said that Saudi Arabia has established four special economic zones and is keen to seek more cooperation opportunities with China, hoping to further promote pragmatic cooperation with Qianhai.Wen Ping, deputy director general of the Qianhai Authority, along with a representative from the Office of Free Trade Affairs of the Qianhai Authority, provided a comprehensive overview of the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Financial City, the Qianhai Free Trade Area, and the Qianhai e-Station.The delegation visits WeBank in Qianhai.
During their visit, the delegation toured Qianhai Stone Park, Qianhai Exhibition Hall, and visited HSBC Qianhai headquarters and WeBank to gain insights into Qianhai’s latest achievements in cross-border finance, digital finance, and modern logistics.
The Saudi delegation’s visit to Qianhai has further deepened mutual understanding and trust between the two regions, providing new opportunities for cooperation in areas such as economic and trade relations, finance, and free trade zones, while expanding bilateral openness.
