Two international service centers opened at the Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport and the Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint on Saturday to provide international visitors with a seamless, efficient experience that meets a wide variety of travel needs.
The one-stop service centers integrate five core service sectors: payments, tourism, communications, transportation, and immigration affairs. They allow guests from overseas to enjoy efficient and comprehensive services upon their arrival in Shenzhen.
The international service center at the airport is located on the first floor of Terminal 3, adjacent to the international arrivals exit. It operates 24/7.
Eledir Busanello, from Brazil, was impressed by the comprehensive services offered by the center, with staffers ready to assist travelers with registering for payment and transportation solutions like WeChat pay, the Shenzhentong “Bay Area PASS Card,” and China Unicom’s Shenzhen short-term SIM cards for international visitors.
“The center is wonderful because it’s a one-stop shop and you can know all about traveling around Shenzhen. You can even buy a SIM card here. It’s just perfect,” Busanello told Shenzhen Daily at the center on its opening day.
Busanello said that her sisters will be coming to China in March, and the center’s services will make their navigation in the city more convenient. “All the information will make their travel around China and here in Shenzhen easier.”
The service center at the Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint stands directly opposite the checkpoint’s arrival hall. It is open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
“It is very convenient to seek services at the center, as we can see it when walking out of the building,” said Marina Vilchinskaia, from Russia.
According to Chen Yan, an official from the city’s border authority, the service center caters to the high volume of cross-border visitors and will continue to improve its services to assist travelers with possible urgent needs upon arriving in Shenzhen.
“I think transportation is my number one consideration when coming to Shenzhen. I would like to explore how to get to the places that I want to visit,” said Kaki Yao, an overseas Chinese traveler from Spain who works in Hong Kong and came to Shenzhen for travel.
Expats can also use machines with English-language options for assistance.
