A promotional event and an entrepreneurship contest award ceremony were held yesterday afternoon at the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub (E-hub) Northern District, attracting approximately 200 attendees, including government officials, entrepreneurs, representatives from incubators and accelerators, and media reporters.

In his opening remarks, Liu Guilin, deputy director of the Qianhai Authority, highlighted that the E-hub and the Qianhai Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest are vital platforms established by Qianhai to support the development of youth from Hong Kong and Macao. To better assist young people and enterprises from Hong Kong in realizing their dreams in Qianhai, the Qianhai Authority has implemented a series of practical measures aimed at enhancing the quality and efficiency of the E-hub.

During the event, it was announced that the Qianhai Science and Technology Innovation Group and the Qianhai Industrial Development Group have partnered with China Prosperity Capital (Shenzhen) Equity Investment Management Co., Ltd. to establish a special investment fund. This fund will focus on investing in strategic emerging industries that Qianhai supports and encourages, with priority given to outstanding Hong Kong science and technology innovation projects that have either established themselves in or meet the requirements for settling in the E-hub.

The E-hub and Hong Kong Cyberport have also set up a mutual promotion mechanism for projects, resulting in 11 companies either currently settled or planning to settle in both entrepreneurial parks. During the event, the first batch of eight companies received cross-park cooperation certificates.

A project focused on intelligent laser industrial mother machines and a company specializing in hydrocarbon jet thermal runaway fireproof and thermal insulation materials received gold prizes in the team and enterprise categories, respectively.

Launched in June this year, the contest attracted 1,287 projects, 797 of which were submitted from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and international participants, accounting for 62% of the total entries. The contest has been held for nine consecutive years since 2016 and has become one of the longest-running, most participated, and most influential professional competitions in Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.
