Marine expo to unlock oceanic potential
The 2024 China Marine Economy Expo (CMEE) will take place at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District (main venue) and the Shenzhen Airport Yacht Marina (subvenue) from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, according to its organizers.
With the theme “Open Cooperation, Win-win Sharing,” this year’s CMEE will delve into the prospects of the global marine economy.
The expo will serve as a national platform for technical dialogues, product demonstrations, trade discussions, and investment prospects through a variety of exhibitions, forums, and ancillary activities. Around 500 global exhibitors are expected to participate.
Highlighting sectors such as shipping and port logistics, ocean energy, marine engineering and environmental protection, marine electronics and information technology, marine biology and pharmaceuticals, and marine tourism and culture, the event will showcase the robust capabilities of China’s marine economic development and technological innovation.
The expo will have a total exhibition area of 95,000 square meters this year.
Concurrently, an exhibition marking the 40th anniversary of China’s polar expedition will be held.
The Shenzhen Global Marine Economy Forum 2024, an executive strategy session of the CMEE, will bring together over 50 renowned experts from around the world to share their insights on marine technology, industry development, maritime transport, oceanic culture, and international cooperation.
The goal of the forum is to promote dialogue and knowledge exchanges between the world’s coastal cities and to accelerate the development of marine partnerships.
Additionally, specialized forums will delve into hot-button and challenging issues such as marine renewable energy, deep-sea science and technology, marine value accounting, marine law, underwater robotics, and blue carbon.
