Shenzhen Airlines announced Thursday that it will open a direct passenger route between Shenzhen and Doha, the capital of Qatar in the Middle East, on Oct. 29.

The outbound flight is scheduled to depart from Shenzhen at 1 a.m. and arrive at the Hamad International Airport at 6 a.m. local time. The flight will be available every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.

The return leg will leave Doha at 7:15 p.m. and arrive at Shenzhen at 8:45 a.m. the next day.

Doha, an aviation hub in the Middle East, plays a pivotal role in connecting Asia, Europe, and Africa.

According to the airline, the new route is expected to support the global expansion of businesses based in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Passengers from various cities in China will benefit from one-stop ticketing and baggage check-in services when transferring in Shenzhen.

Additionally, the airline will offer complimentary overnight hotel stays to passengers transiting to Doha who have layovers in Shenzhen between six and 36 hours.
