The Qianhai court has recently achieved a milestone in cross-border dispute resolution by successfully applying the innovative "bilingual mediation plus Hong Kong mediation organization" model.

The court resolved a private loan dispute involving Japanese parties within just one week, showcasing its innovative achievements and professional capabilities in cross-border judicial cooperation.

The case arose when the defendant, Mr. Matsuda, failed to repay the principal and interest of a 150,000-yuan loan borrowed from the plaintiff, Ms. Suzuki.

In July, Suzuki filed a lawsuit with the Qianhai court. Facing the unique challenges of language barriers and the absence of legal representation, the Qianhai court promptly initiated a special mediation process, leveraging the expertise of the Mainland-Hong Kong Joint Mediation Center.

Through a combination of online and offline efforts, the court overcame the language obstacles and, with the concerted efforts of mediators and judicial assistants, facilitated a successful mediation agreement between the parties.

This mediation not only underscores the Qianhai court's innovative approach to cross-border dispute resolution but also demonstrates its proactive efforts to enhance the internationalization of judicial services.

By inviting Hong Kong mediation organizations as specially invited mediation organizations, the Qianhai court has paved a new path for efficient resolution of cross-border disputes.

Since being approved by the Supreme People's Court in May this year, the Qianhai court has established cooperation with several HongKong mediation organizations, handling dozens of cases and successfully mediating multiple cross-border disputes.
