Residents of Hong Kong and Macao will have the opportunity to experience the traditional Guangxi festival of Sanyuesan through a series of themed events that will be held in Hong Kong and Macao from Friday to Monday.
Guangxi Sanyuesan, also known as Zhuang Sanyuesan, is a national-level intangible cultural heritage. During this festival, people pay homage to their ancestors, perform lively dances, savor special dishes, and participate in various festivities around the third day of the third lunar month, which fell on April 11 this year.
The Hong Kong station’s opening ceremony is scheduled for Saturday afternoon. During the ceremony, attendees will be treated to folk dances, folk songs, and puppet shows that epitomize the ethnic culture of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Alongside these performances, there will be presentations highlighting Guangxi’s diverse culture and its myriad tourist attractions.
The opening ceremony for the Macao station will be held Monday afternoon and will feature cultural performances, accompanied by a special ceremony commemorating a book donation from a Guangxi publishing house to Macao.
