The Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub held the year’s first sharing session for the Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Scheme on March 29 to attract more Hong Kong young people to work in the mainland cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

The sharing session attracted more than 30 Shenzhen and Hong Kong entrepreneurs to jointly explore how to help Hong Kong young people pursue their dreams in the GBA.

The event also provided guidance for Hong Kong youths who are willing to develop in the GBA, engaging them to work on the mainland based on their own advantages and qualifications.

The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region piloted the Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Scheme in January 2021 and has regularized the scheme since March 1, 2023.

The scheme aims to encourage more enterprises to offer jobs and support Hong Kong young people to work in the mainland cities of the GBA, so as to foster their career development and increase talent exchange in the region. Graduates hired through the scheme can receive a monthly allowance of HK$10,000 (US$1,278) for up to 18 months and a monthly salary of no less than HK$18,000.

The Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub has held 12 activities, attracting over 100 enterprises and 700 individuals to apply for participation since last March.
