A book entitled “Shenzhen and You” was officially released at a ceremony at Shenzhen Talent Park on Friday, providing various types of useful information for talents to work and live in Shenzhen.

Compiled by the Shenzhen Municipal Talent Affairs Bureau, the book is divided into three chapters and introduces Shenzhen from three perspectives: life, entrepreneurship and startup policies, and culture and tourism under the themes of “Shenzhen,” “Love” and “You.” It covers various aspects of the city, showcasing its openness and conclusiveness, robust industrial chain and innovation system, efficient administrative services, developed capital market and financial system, diverse cultural scene, pleasant climate and picturesque environment.

The pocket-sized book has been designed for convenience, enabling readers to carry it easily and access valuable insights whenever needed. Currently available on Taobao.com, the book will soon be accessible on other platforms, including Dangdang.com and JD.com.

The book released Friday is in simplified Chinese. It will also have versions in English and traditional Chinese.

“The book introduces a lot of policies related to subsidies for young people from Hong Kong and Macao to live, intern, work, and start businesses in Shenzhen. It is very informative,” Liu Jia, co-founder of Chuangbohui (Shenzhen) Incubation Co. Ltd., said.

The Qianhai-based company offers support to young entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao venturing into the Shenzhen startup scene. It has incubated 30 startup teams from Hong Kong and Macao and assisted nearly 40 youths in realizing their entrepreneurial dreams in Shenzhen.

“I think Shenzhen is probably one of the best places in China in term of business environment. I think foreigners planning to stay here for a couple of months might end up staying here for years,” Bob Bogaert, China general manager of The Half Moon Brewery, said at an interview.

Shenzhen now has a talent pool of over 6.77 million individuals, comprising more than 24,000 high-end professionals, over 200,000 returnees from overseas, 2.28 million professionals, and 4 million technicians.
