The transport bureau in Nanshan District has introduced three new bus routes connecting Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint with popular tourist attractions and commercial hubs in the district to cater to the needs of Hong Kong residents traveling north to Shenzhen for shopping and consumption.

Operated by Shenzhen Bus Group, the three bus routes, namely A, B and C, are entirely free of charge. They provide convenient access to prominent business districts such as Shenzhen Bay MixC, Coastal City, Yitian Holiday Plaza, OCT Harbor and Sea World. The buses operate daily from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

In addition to the three routes, Shenzhen Bus Group has also introduced the M507 bus route, connecting Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint with Qianhai and Bao’an CBD.

The M507 buses run between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m., departing at 30-minute intervals from the checkpoint’s Parking Lot A. The fare for this service is only 2 yuan (US$0.27) per ride.

At the end of last year, the city unveiled a plan for the high-quality development of ICVs, introducing the ambitious “Double 100 Demonstration” project. The initiative aims to deploy over 100 driverless taxis and 100 driverless buses by the end of the year.

To achieve the goal, Qianhai will open four driverless bus routes with 20 buses engaged in commercial operation. Pingshan has approved the operation of 50 ICVs, including 20 commercial taxis. Bao’an and Nanshan districts have outlined plans for the commercialization of ICVs.
