Cathay Pacific Airways initiated a six-day talent recruitment fair at the Qianhai International Talent Hub on Aug. 25, marking the company’s first-ever recruitment of flight attendants on the mainland.

The event serves as a part of Cathay Pacific’s 2023 Mainland Talent Recruitment Plan, with the objective of hiring 200 to 300 flight attendants exclusively through this fair in Qianhai. The company plans to expand its talent acquisition efforts to encompass various job positions, such as flying cadets, information technology personnel, ground staff, logistics personnel, and customer service personnel, among others.

Ronald Lam, Chief Executive Officer of Cathay Pacific Group, announced the company’s intention to further expand its presence in the mainland market. “With the continuous increase in the number of mainland passengers, we plan to recruit more exceptional talents from the mainland to establish a diverse service team. By 2025, we anticipate recruiting around 4,000 talents from the mainland,” he said.

Mandy Ng, Cathay Pacific Director of Service Delivery, emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing communication and fostering talent exchanges between the mainland and Hong Kong. The aim is to promote diversified integration and intercommunication between the two regions.

Starting from late October, Cathay Pacific will offer over 160 flights per week, connecting 15 cities on the mainland with a total of 16 destinations. This extensive flight network will serve as a vital “air bridge” connecting the mainland, Hong Kong, and the rest of the world.
