A total of 50 institutions and 444 individuals from Hong Kong’s construction industry have so far completed registration procedures to practice in Qianhai.
The achievement can be attributed to the lowering of several thresholds, it was announced at a press conference recently.
In a significant advancement for cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong in the construction sector, 10 Hong Kong enterprises have independently undertaken multiple construction projects in Qianhai, while 74 Hong Kong building construction firms have actively participated in projects in the same area.
On May 9, Qianhai Authority introduced 14 reform measures targeting six key areas, including engineering supervision, engineering mediation, and measurement and valuation. The measures drew inspiration from established practices in Hong Kong and internationally, aiming to modernize and innovate engineering systems within Qianhai.
On June 25, Qianhai issued and implemented the revised registration measures for Hong Kong construction institutions and professionals. These measures aim to widen the scope of registered professions and streamline the registration process.
Under the revised measures, Hong Kong professionals involved in safety production, environmental protection and engineering construction are now eligible to register and practice in Qianhai. Additionally, a new registration channel has been introduced specifically for safety production licenses held by Hong Kong contractors.
