Qianhai, British council to deepen sci-tech cooperation
The Authority of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone and the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) yesterday afternoon, documenting that the two parties will strengthen mutual cooperation in the sci-tech field.
According to the MOU, CBBC will establish a Greater Bay Area (GBA) sci-tech innovation cooperation committee in Qianhai and join hands with Qianhai Authority to integrate international innovation resources, carry out Sino-British sci-tech innovation research and cooperation, and promote the globalization of Qianhai’s sci-tech innovation industry.
Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, chair of CBBC said British companies are optimistic about the development opportunities in the GBA. “With its unique strategic positioning and superior geographical location, Qianhai will become a special link between Hong Kong and the mainland. CBBC will work closely with Qianhai to grasp the development potential of the GBA and push the economic and trade cooperation between the U.K. and the GBA to a higher level,” he said.
Through its future GBA working group, CBBC will further publicize and promote the business potential of the GBA in the fields of technology, finance, education, and medical care, enhance the exchange and sharing of business information, and provide new support for deepening Sino-British exchanges and cooperation.
