Qianhai court, lawyers association to jointly promote judicial ethics
A proposal on jointly building a judicial credit system was signed by the Primary People’s Court of Qianhai Cooperation Zone and the Qianhai lawyers working committee of Shenzhen Lawyers Association with the aim to improve legal service efficiency and the business environment in Qianhai on Friday.
The proposal calls for lawyers working and practicing law in Qianhai to abide by its ethics principles, act actively in promoting mediation and assist in settling disputes after court.
“Both lawyers and law workers such as judges are in the legal community. We have to uphold the dignity of law,” said Bian Fei, president of the court.
“By working with local lawyers associations, we want to help lay the foundation for social credit construction, provide fair opportunities for legal professionals and promote the convergence of law practices between the mainland and Hong Kong. For instance, we are working on allowing the transmission of lawyers fee and attendance of witness.”
The court also released a working guidance on building judicial integrity, which covers the whole process of commercial law suit and adopts some practices applied in Hong Kong and Macao.
