Lecture helps Qianhai companies enhance IP awareness
A lecture was held in Qianhai on Nov. 9 to help raise companies’ awareness of intellectual property issues encountered during the process of realizing an innovation development pattern.
Liu Yingying, a senior staff member of the First Procuratorate Department of the People’s Procuratorate of Qianhai, was invited as a guest of the event. She said enterprises are the subjects of independent innovation as well as the main creators, users, and “victims” of intellectual property rights. It is hoped that through this lecture, enterprises can raise their awareness of intellectual property protection and can have a deeper understanding of intellectual property-related knowledge, so as to make better use of the intellectual property system to enhance their independent innovation capabilities and core competitiveness.
Some scholars, experts and representatives from sci-tech innovation companies and internet media firms were invited as lecturers.
Huang Baijia from the People’s Procuratorate of Qianhai focused on the topic of “Intellectual Property Protection and Criminal Compliance.” Huang introduced the provisions on intellectual property protection covered in Criminal Law and analyzed the intellectual property issues that enterprises may encounter in the course of operation through an analysis of some classic cases.
Zhan Yang, general manager of the Content Platform Department of Tencent Group gave a lecture on the theme of “Copyright Protection Helps Enterprises Open New Routes for Digital Innovation.” He made an in-depth analysis of the development trend of the IP industry and the pain points and difficulties of the industry, through which he aimed to help Qianhai enterprises improve their independent innovation capabilities and core competitiveness, while also doing a good job in maintaining intellectual property protection and management.
More similar events serving Qianhai companies are expected to be held in the near future, including lectures and seminars on sci-tech innovation, taxation, and bank services.
