The Authority of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone (Qianhai Authority) held a lecture Aug. 26 to help Hong Kong-funded companies in the area better understand the rule of law for their business operations.

The lecture was attended by 50 Hong Kong firms and was watched online by more than 2,000 companies registered in Qianhai.

Liu Guilin, vice director of Qianhai Authority said at the lecture that Qianhai has been actively learning from Hong Kong in terms of rule of law to create a legal business environment that is similar to that of Hong Kong. He hoped that through this special legal service event, Qianhai can help Hong Kong companies improve their awareness of the rule of law, enhance their ability of enterprise management according to law, and safeguard their quality development.

Wu Youbin, vice president of Qianhai Court also delivered a speech at the lecture. He said the court has made a series of efforts to respond to the judicial needs of Hong Kong-funded enterprises and to help Qianhai create an ideal environment for innovation and entrepreneurship with legal protection. Wu said the court will continue to improve its international commercial dispute resolution mechanisms and enhance mutual recognition of laws and rules between the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao.

Several experienced legal experts also shared with company representatives ways to prevent legal risks and establish a law compliance system, their ideas to innovate Qianhai’s legal business environment, and suggestions on controlling potential risks when signing cross-border commercial contracts.
