Two feeders from different 20kV voltage busbars of Qianhai’s distribution network have successfully realized the closed loop operation of different busbars in the public distribution room of Qianhai Excellence Financial Center (phase II), pioneering the closed loop operation of 20kV different busbars in China, according to Qianhai & Shekou Power Supply.
The pioneering work marked an important milestone for Qianhai to build a world-class smart power grid and improve businesses’ access to electricity, as well as to build a sound, efficient and reliable smart power grid.
A busbar refers to a conductor that collects and distributes electricity to each feeder branch in a substation.
Closed loop operation of different busbars means the “hand-in-hand” connection of two feeders from busbars under different transformers, which ensures users or consumers that there is an alternative supply in the event of a transmission line’s failure.
