The Qianhai International Conference Center, which features the traditional Lingnan architecture, will be put into use in August 2020, making it the largest conference center in Qianhai.
Yesterday marked the completion of the concrete pouring of the basement roof structure of the project, indicating that the construction has entered a new stage – constructing the surface building.
Located next to the Qianhai Bauhinia Park, the center covers a total area of 24,300 square meters, with a total building area of about 40,500 square meters and a building height of 23.6 meters.
The venue contains a basement and two above floors. The ground floor will have a large conference room that can accommodate 1,422 audience members, and a multi-functional hall will be built on the second floor to hold 2,000 people. An underground garage, a banquet hall and guests rooms will also be built to serve for various activities.
According to Jiang Liyong, vice manager of the Guangdong company of The Second Construction Ltd. Co. of China Construction Eight Engineering Division – the construction contractor of the project, the architecture aims to present the beauty of Lingnan buildings to visitors.
“The glass curtain wall will cover the main surface of the building to mimic the traditional glazed tile-made roof. The interior decoration will also give people a feeling of Lingnan culture,” said Jiang. “We want to showcase the cultural confidence in Qianhai by using a lot of Chinese traditional cultural elements.”
In addition of the application of advanced technologies such as the BIM (Building Information Modeling) management system and a new scaffolding technique, the contractor also uses the spray system to decrease dust density at the construction site.
The project is invested by Qianhai Investment Holding company, one of the three wholly-owned companies of the authority of Qianhai.
