A new creation and innovation hub was inaugurated in Qianhai on Nov. 14 to service startups in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area that are engaged in the design and creative industry.

The Zetta Bridge Shenzhen-Hong Kong design and creation cluster, located in the Mawan area, was jointly initiated by the Authority of Qianhai, the Hong Kong Federation of Design Associations (FHKDA), Qianhai Shekou Free Trade & Investment Co. Ltd. and Hong Kong Kicers Group Ltd. With a total investment of 120 million yuan, Zetta Bridge covers an area of 140,000 square meters, contains a creative market, an exhibition and trading hall and design studios, and serves as a professional service platform to support creative talents, brands and design companies that want to tap the mainland market.

Senior officials with the Qianhai authority, Jersey Yuen, assistant head of Create Hong Kong in the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Tony Wong, chairman of Zetta Bridge, attended the inauguration ceremony.

According to Etina Lam, director of business and programming at Zetta Bridge, the Qianhai hub is the first creative cluster launched by the company on the Chinese mainland. Zetta Bridge plans to launch four other creative hubs on the Chinese mainland, including one in Chengdu that will be put into service in 2021, Lam said.

The geographical advantage and abundant cultural and creative resources in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, as well as the favorable policies that the Qianhai authority offers, attracted Zetta Bridge to launch its first creative hub in Qianhai.

Currently, 50 design startups and creative companies from Hong Kong have settled in Zetta Bridge Qianhai.

The business services Zetta Bridge offers, including business consultations, product development and industrial culture exchanges, are attractive to the startups and designers in the hub, according to some members of Zetta Bridge Qianhai.

Zetta Bridge’s expertise and business network are valuable for startups and during the process of business development, said some of the members.
