At 3 p.m., Nov. 11, the last steel box girder was installed to its predetermined position, marking the successful connection of Guimiao Road Flyover.
As an important part of Yueliangwan Interchange, Guimiao Road Flyover is a major construction project in Shenzhen. The flyover is 519.3 meters long and is constructed in accordance with the standards for an urban expressway. It has eight lanes in two directions, including a collector-distributor lane on each side.
The designed speed of the flyover is 80 kilometers per hour. It crosses Yueliangwan Boulevard, Pingnan Railway, Yihai Boulevard and Guimiao Canal from east to west, and connects with the first phase of Guimiao Road at both ends.
The project has overcome a series of difficulties during its construction.
The flyover is located within the range of the metro protection zone, and the distance between the pile foundation and the metro shield is only 2.15 meters.
Various pipelines are distributed on either side of Yueliangwan Boulevard, including the high-pressure gas, refined oil and liquefied natural gas pipelines, which need to be carefully protected.
Yueliangwan Boulevard has a large traffic flow, which puts tremendous pressure on traffic organization during the construction of the flyover.
Additionally, the normal operation of Pingnan Railway needs to be guaranteed, which requires complex coordination and safety protection work.
The project was financed by Qianhai Investment Holdings Co., Ltd. and was constructed by the China Railway Group Ltd. and China Railway Guangzhou Engineering Group Co., Ltd.
