Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, in collaboration with Sinotrans, recently officially launched a regular cargo flight route from Shenzhen to Budapest, the first international cargo route to Hungary.

The route is operated by Uzbekistan Airways, with three departures per week and a weekly capacity of over 170 tons. It primarily transports goods such as local cross-border e-commerce goods, telecommunications electronics, and semiconductors from Shenzhen. More than 70% of the cross-border e-commerce goods originate from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

So far, Shenzhen airport has opened cargo routes to nine cities in seven European countries, including London, Paris, Madrid, Leipzig, Frankfurt, Liège, Moscow, Cologne, and Budapest, and offers more than 40 round-trip cargo flights between Shenzhen and Europe each week.

Eastern Europe, being one of the fastest-growing regions, has become one of the overseas emerging consumer markets that Chinese companies are expanding to.

Hungary was the first European country to sign a document with China to promote the Belt and Road Initiative.

The new route will help to meet the international logistical transportation needs of cross-border e-commerce enterprises in the Pearl River Delta and further promote the collaborative development of China-Europe cross-border e-commerce and logistics.
